How to Choose a Cleanser
A cleanser should fit the role it plays in your routine. The best choice is not the loudest promise; it is the texture and format you can use comfortably.
Start with the routine role
If the step is makeup or sunscreen removal, an oil cleanser may make sense. If the step is the second cleanse, focus on a comfortable finish and how the skin feels after rinsing.
Texture changes behavior
Powder, oil, gel and cream textures can all feel different. A good routine respects preference because consistency depends on whether the product feels natural to use.
Avoid over-cleansing
A cleanser should leave skin feeling clean, not punished. Tightness or persistent discomfort is a sign to simplify the routine, reassess frequency or avoid stacking multiple strong cleansing steps on the same day.
Choose by day, not only by skin type
The same person may need a different cleansing approach after makeup, sunscreen, travel or a quiet day indoors. A good cleanser wardrobe is flexible without becoming complicated.
